Interlibrary Loan is a service that provides access to materials not owned by the Greene County Public Library. Our Library extends beyond our walls.

1. Getting Started

First, please be sure to check the local Greene County Public Library catalog before requesting an item outside our system.

To use these services, you must have a valid Greene County Public Library library card, and your fines must be below $5.00.

If you are unable to locate your desired item in our catalog, try the following resources:

Access over 7 million items available to our collection through a consortium of Ohio libraries. Search our catalog first, and if we don't own what you're looking for, click the SearchOhio button in the catalog to search the consortium.

If the item is available, put a request on it and it will be delivered to your local library in a few days.

Local History & Genealogy

Materials about genealogy or local history should be requested through our Greene County Room by calling (937) 352-4000 x1221.

You can also email us your local history or genealogy questions.

Suggest a Purchase

Some materials may not be available using these services. Audio/Video materials and genealogy in particular can be difficult to obtain. To suggest a purchase of a very new item, please visit http://www.greenelibrary.info/forms/acquire.php.

Additional Details - Circulation Policies

There is a limit of fifteen (15) WorldCat items per library card and twenty-five (25) SearchOhio items per library card.

DVDs and Videos obtained via WorldCat circulate for one (1) week and cannot be renewed; other materials can be renewed one (1) time.

DVDs and Videos obtained via SearchOhio circulate for one (1) week and can be renewed three (3) times as long as there are no other reserves on the item.

All other SearchOhio items circulate for twenty-one (21) days and can be renewed three (3) times as long as there are no other reserves on the material.

Patrons will be assessed a $20.00 replacement cost in additional to replacement costs levied by the lending library when an item borrowed via WorldCat is lost or returned damaged.

Patrons will be assessed a $25.00 replacement cost for all SearchOhio items lost or returned damaged.

All patrons, including "fine free" patrons, are responsible for paying fines associated with materials borrowed through this service.
