The bookmobile began service in 2002 as a way to introduce elementary school students to the library and to the pleasures of reading. It is stocked with multiple copies of high-interest reading material such as picture books, popular fiction, beginning readers, nonfiction and magazines.
The bookmobile reaches more than 4800 children and teachers and visits the following 17 schools:
