Library service for the blind and physically handicapped in the United States is delivered through a network of libraries and agencies coordinated by the Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS). The Talking Book Program provides free recorded books, magazines and playback equipment to approximately 15,000 eligible blind, visually impaired, physically disabled, and reading disabled Ohio residents. Due to the conversion from tape players to digital devices, the Greene County Public Library no longer has players to distribute. If you have a player in need of repair, return it in the box in which it came to the address on the box, free of charge. To sign up for a new digital player contact: Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled. To get an application or for more information call: 1–800–686–1531 (Ohio only) or (614) 644–6895. Applications are also available from the State Library of Ohio Talking Books Services web page. Ohio Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled |
