A Friends of the Library group was started in the 1960's and reactived in the mid 70's with the help of The Beavercreek Women's League. Land on Dayton-Xenia Road had been donated by Faye Bartley, and the Friends of the Beavercreek Library needed the support of the public to pass a levy to build the new library. The levy passed, and the library (13,000 sq. ft.) opened in the fall of 1979. The Friends are very supportive of the Community Library, and have a membership of over 200. They have a Spring and Fall Book Sale, and send out a newsletter twice a year. Current Officers: Membership (Year January through December):
A Great Books Discussion group is supported by the Friends of the Library. They meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, September to May, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the library. |
