No, the library does not lend ereaders at this time.

Can I download ebooks using library computers?

Currently, ebooks cannot be downloaded using library computers due to software issues but can be downloaded from home or in the library using your own computer.

How do I get the library’s ebooks on my ereader?

  1. Log in to the Digital Downloads website with your library card number.
  2. Download Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) (you will need an Adobe ID for this).
  3. Select one or more ebooks for download.
  4. Check out and download your ebook(s) following the instructions and prompts on the site.
  5. Plug your ereader in to the computer. Once your ereader appears on ADE’s bookshelves, click and drag the book cover to the ereader shelf. Drop the book onto the ereader’s shelf within ADE. A copy of the ebook should appear on your ereader. Unplug your ereader from the computer in order to read the ebook.

How long do I get to keep the library’s ebook once I have downloaded it?

You may choose between a 7-day or 14-day loan period.

How many ebooks can I check out at one time?

You may check out up to 10 titles at a time.

How do I return my ebook to the library?

You do not have to return an ebook at all. When your loan period is over, the ebook file will no longer work. You then can delete the file. However, if you finish an ebook before the loan period expires, you can return it early.

How do I return my ebook early?

Ebooks can only be returned early using Adobe Digital Editions. To return ebooks early:

  1. Open Adobe Digital Editions.
  2. Select the 'Library View' icon (in the upper left corner).
  3. Under the 'Bookshelves' heading, select 'Borrowed'.
  4. Click the ebook you want to return.
  5. Click the 'Item Options' arrow (in the upper left corner of the selected ebook).
  6. Select 'Return Borrowed Item'.
  7. Click 'Return' to verify that you want to return the title.
