For over 100 years, Greene County residents have enjoyed the educational and cultural benefits of library service. Library resources and usage has grown steadily, and today the library system consists of 7 community libraries throughout the county.

The library system currently offers a collection of hundreds of thousands of items, including books, magazines, videos, audio cassettes, CDs, computers, and more. Home delivery extends library service to those who cannot visit the library. Teacher collections and close relationships with area schools help area children expand their educational horizon.

Many of these services have been achieved through prudent use of tax money. But continuing these services, and creating new services, will in the future depend heavily on generous gifts of library supporters.

The Library Foundation
The Library Foundation has been established to provide a secure financial foundation to insure a legacy of excellence for the future. The Foundation will not replace tax money; it is intended to enhance the quality and range of library service beyond the level that is the responsibility of the taxpayer.

Foundation Goals
The Greene County Public Library strives to provide life-long learning opportunities to all citizens in our community. The Foundation will assure the fulfillment of this broad and ambitious goal through collection development, activities to advance literature and learning, and support of special Library projects.

Special Projects
You may designate a special use for your Foundation contribution. But if you make no special designation, the Library Foundation will use your gift toward endowing Foundation projects.

Your Gift
Whether your contribution is a cash donation or a bequest, it will be used to extend the Library’s community service. Gifts of $1000 or more will be honored in perpetuity through inclusion in the Roll of Honor in your local library. Your gift to the Library Foundation is tax deductible.
